A window on Christmas

I love making scene cards, especially Christmas.

I’ve had this window die for years. It’s one of those old thick Sizzix ones. I saw a card with a Christmas tree in the window. This is my take on that card.

The tree is die cut from a retired set In The Woods. After stamping it in Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow I die cut it I put some ornaments on it with the Pearlized Enamel Effects. This is a liquid that comes in a little bottle. I have red, silver, bronze and gold but I wanted some other color "ornaments" too. I had some blue glitter, so first I put some Dazzling Diamonds dots on the tree then sprinkled it with the blue glitter and tapped the excess off. Then I applied the dots in the other colors. Now here is the hard part… waiting for it to dry.

I embossed the background layer with a brick pattern for the outdoor house walls and lightly sponged the edges in Gray Granite with a sponge dauber. I found some muted DSP for the inside wall, behind the tree, I didn't want the background to distract from the tree.

After the tree ornaments, dried I wrapped some gold trim around the tree for garland and secured it in back with some glue dots and Dimensionals. I found a gold star in my stash and put that on top of the tree .

I cut some pine boughs from clipart with my ScanNCut and put it all together.

I have another window card in mind. Maybe 2? I'll post those later. Oh, if you want more inspiration, check out my store. I've been making Christmas cards like crazy!

There’s no new product, except the Pearlized Enamel, in this card so this is purely for inspiration. Just use what you have around the house.

Thank you for stopping by!
